We are proud to be able to formally announce our relationship with SPi Global for rekeying of approximately 536,000 catalogue cards for the Mellon-funded Bodleian Maps & Music Catalogues Retroconversion Project. SPi will be partnering with the Bodleian Libraries to complete this work over the course of the next ten months. We look forward to working with SPi.
A batch of test data amounting to 600 records has been sent to the project from the keyboarding company. John and Russell are working their way through this first look at the keyed catalogue cards, and are reporting back on any errors.
23 July saw plenty of activity on the project with our editors reporting for their first day at work. Russell Grant will be editing the Music cards, with John Mackrell working on Maps. Their immediate supervisor is Debbie Hall. We wish them well.
